Another one from the archive: a cover I did for the late Byron Preiss, for a "Black Moon" mystery, one of a series of paperbacks...I scanned this from what I could find, a color xerox...fixed up in Photoshop.
Love the bold b/w design. Allows the colors to be very simple and minimal. Reads like a painting from a distance. Did you do the original color in photoshop?
Thanks a lot Benton and Roberto and Michael! It's great to get such a nice reaction---unexpected.
Benton--it was done before computers(1989)...black prismacolor pencil and black ink (marker I think) on coquille board, then I had a film positive made, then airbrushed/painted underneath that on paper---whew! It's a lot easier now, with Photoshop!
I love being a channel for creativity and since roughly 1979 I've been creating comics covers and pages, graphic novels, animation background designs, illustrations, and more.
