Back in 1980-81 I worked as one of the lead designers on Nelvana Animation's feature film "Rock and Rule"...recently I was digging through a box of old drawings and unearthed this rough from that time. It was from the sequence when the band in that film was rehearsing...

I just got that in on DVD! Can't wait to watch it...it's been years. I'll look out for that scene! I wish Nelvana had the guts to pull something like that again...
Got any others from that project?
Thanks Warren...I have tons of stuff from that time, not only finished model sheets but los of my own roughs and sketches and doodles. I even have, rolled up, the massive drawing I did for the infamous (infamous because of all the technical problems they had shooting it) long pan downshot of Ohmtown, where the camera pans over the whole city. I drew the whole thing, it took me two weeks, on a giant piece of paper...
A small carp for me about that movie, not that it really matters all that much now in the greater scheme of things, is that I was really stiffed for proper credit...at least on the VHS release, and I assume it will be the same on the DVD, I was only listed i think as a "layout artist" or something like that, when in reality I designed easily half of the locations in the movie, and was involved in designing tons of other stuff two, such as vehicles, etc, etc...and I have all the drawings to prove it.
At any rate I'll do some digging and see what I can find for posting...the ever-hungry blog-maw must always be fed, it chews incessantly...
Wow. I figured you must have had something to do with it! Almost everyone in town worked on it at one time.
That's incredible that you did that much work! And typical of the credit, unfortunately. Happens a lot.
Don't kill yourself digging things up. We got time...
