A ballpoint pen drawing from a sketchbook, which I colorized in Photoshop. It's not quite finished; I was going to add a whole background, but thass a lot of ballpoint-pen-lines...the hand quailed, deadlines intervened...

Hi Adriano,
Thanks for your kind comments. I'll probably be doing most of my "theorizing" over on my Scientific Artist blog. But...simply put, I compose images like this straight ahead, just trying to keep the masses and tones balanced yet interesting.
As far as Burne Hogarth's books go, frankly I detest them and about 90% of the material. There are a few interesting things in them but I found a lot of it highly misleading at best.
A gem !
